The Modern is a two Michelin-starred contemporary American restaurant at the Museum of Modern Art.

Helmed by Executive Chef Thomas Allan, The Modern features refined, yet unexpectedly playful dishes that highlight exceptional ingredients and seasonality in three distinct culinary experiences: a bold prix fixe menu in the dining room overlooking MoMA’s Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden; an à la carte menu in the lively Bar Room; and an experiential tasting menu in the center of all the action at the Kitchen Table. 

The Modern’s selection of wines includes 2,800 offerings from around the world and its extensive range of offerings has earned the prestigious 3-Star Award in the World of Fine Wine’s “World's Best Wine List Awards” and Wine Spectator’s Grand Award. 

The Modern’s service is characterized by warmth and approachability, and with its serene atmosphere and modern aesthetic, the restaurant offers a welcome escape from the bustling Midtown neighborhood it calls home. Its beautiful private dining room, which offers floor-to-ceiling views of MoMA’s Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden, can accommodate between 30 to 80 guests.
